Burgos

BURGOS

Burgos is the capital city of Castilla y Leon, one of the seventeen autonomous communities in Spain. It has a population of 173 483 people and it was founded in the year 884, in the Middle Ages.

It is one of the most important cities in Spain if we talk about history.  It has lot of interesting historical places like its cathedral (which is a World Heritage), the Miraflores Charterhouse or the Monastery of Santa Maria la Real de las Huelgas.

In burgos there are very important archeological sites too, the most famous one is Atapuerca, that is a World Heritage too.

I really recommend visiting this city, and personally, the best moment to visit it is in the beginning of September, when it is not very cold and there aren't lots of tourist so you will can see the hall city in a weekend without rushing.
