Ferrol

Ferrol is a spanish city located in the Ferrol estuary, in the north of La Coruña. It's the capital of Ferrolterra, a region of La Coruña. Also it's called El Ferrol of the caudillo because the caudillo Francisco Franco was born there. It has a great coastal frontage open to the Atlantic Sea, where there are a lot of beaches where people practise surf and windsurf. Furthermore Ferrol is the third city more poblated of La Coruña and the seventh of Galicia.

In Ferrol there are 3 diferent museums, the first one is the "Naval Museum", where you can find the naval and maritime history of Spain, the second is "Exponav", where you can find how boats were made, and the third one is the "Museum of Natural History", where you can have a tour through the history of local species.

Also there are historical places like the "Castel of San Felipe", that is an ancient military complex, the Ferrol's arsenal, which is a naval base and an arsenal. Furthermore there are interesting places like many viewpoints, the "Park Queen Sofia" and the "Theather Jofre" which is one of the most relevant theatres in Galicia.

Personally I recommend you to see the viewpoint of Monte Ventoso, because it's really beautifull, the beach of San Xurxo, the water is pretty clear and it has great views, and the Naval Museum, it's free and very interesting to see. Also if you want to eat I recommend you the restaurant O Pincho, the food is delicious and they have a lot of variety. Furthermore if you visit Ferrol the best hotel to stay is the "Gran Hotel Ferrol" because is 9 minutes on foot of the railway station of Ferrol and the instalation is luxury, it have a really comfortable room with TV, a minibar and a hydromassage bathtub.
