Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and at the same time the second most populated city after Madrid with 1,700,000 habitants.
Barcelona is the biggest city in Spain and is famous for its art and historical monuments.
Another thing that Catalan city is the gastronomy, the most traditional foods are: bread with tomato, Calçots with Romesco Sauce, cannelloni, Catalan coca, butifarra with mongetes, Catalan-style roasted chicken and Catalan cream.
Last year when I visited Barcelona with my family in the summer, more specifically in August, it turned out like a very good and interesting place.

The most important monuments in Barcelona are:
The Holy Family: It is the last construction of Gaudí's stage, a unique place in Barcelona that also became the tallest Basilica in the world
Casa btllo: It is a luxury place that became a public park and when I visited it I found it incredible
The Cathedral: Barcelona Cathedral is the monument that I liked the most because of its history, this cathedral is Gothic in style and construction began in the year 1293.
Spotify Camp Nou: For football lovers this is another place that can be visited since it is allowed to see the stadium facilities inside, it is the FC Barcelona stadium.
Another place that I liked was the boulevard, which is a tourist tour where if you are a tourist it is essential that you go through there, it is full of shops and restaurants.
The season that I recommend going to Barcelona from my experience is in spring since it is not so hot or cold, in summer Barcelona have from a lot of humidity and warm, on the other hand in spring you can walk and go touring without any problem.
I hope you like the city and it has helped you to know the monuments and the gastronomy that you should know in this magnificent place in Spain!
